Programming

Scratch is a programming language, which is one way to communicate with a robot

Simple Machines
Simple Machines are mechanical tools that can do work for you using less time and energy.
Some examples of simple machines are: inclined plane, wedge, lever, wheel and axle, screw, and pulley.

Gear Ratios
Gears are a type of simple machine. They look like wheels with teeth.
For example, the image at the right shows a driver gear, which is the gear that you turn, and a follower gear, which is the gear that gets turned.
With gear ratios, if the driver gear is big and the follower gear is small, the system is not very strong.
But, if the driver gear is small and the follower gear is big, the system is very strong. If the driver and follower gears are equal sizes, then the system has average strength.
