Construction Clean Up!
Step 2: Define the Problem
Challenge: Construction Cleanup!
There is debris all over a construction site. We need to design a robot to clean it up so that it is safe for Robbie and his friends to return to work.
We need your help! There is too much debris for us to go back to work!
Step 3: Plan Solutions
What does the robot need to do?
Move debris to the designated area.
What does the debris look like?
The debris will be light enough to carry or push, and in the shape of a cube.
How can it accomplish this?
Push the debris with a plow
Scoop the debris with a bucket
Carry the debris with a claw or lift
Cubes are going to be used to represent the construction debris. They are 3 in wide, 3 in long, and 3 in tall.
The cubes will be scattered around the course.
Step 3: Make a Model
Brainstorm
Choose
Build
Test
Come up with some designs for a solution to the challenge.
Look through the designs that you brainstormed.
Build your design. Attach it to the driving base you built in step 1.
Move on to the next lesson to test you robot.
